Bad experience of Online Job

Today, I am going to share a new story. I got a project of wordpress (web-development), I became very happy as I was in search of new client and was ready to work even for really cheap rates. I set the price 200 to 300 for any kind of joomla and wordpress website, so I can get some work due to my cheap rates.

Yesterday, I found a client who was ready to pay me 300 for his desired website. He gave me 5 days to complete the website but I needed money urgently, but he was not even ready to give me some upfront payment, Normally it is my rule now that I use to get half payment before starting any work online but he said that he will give me all payment after the work will done successfully. I haven’t any other way, at least there was NO WAY to say NO about this project as I found this client by luck and I haven’t want to lose him, just for my one rule.

He gave me this website that he liked this website but he doesn’t want clone at all but similar to it.

I have done, everything perfectly, whatever he wanted, I was not feeling well even but I worked hard for continuously 26 hours, as there was no end of his desires, I finished website in 6 hours according to his initial requirement but his revisions/changes took more time, then again revisions/changes, by this way I have completed this web after 26 hours and I requested for my money and he said he is going to send me but he blocked my Skype ID.

I kept asking about money, when I finished complete website first time according to his desires. But he was not ready to send me payment, till then I will finish his last one more change.

Changes, changes and changes. I got tired badly, because now I was losing believe of getting any payment from him. But, still I was waiting for his statement that when he will say that now he is 100% satisfied. Usually, I never work in night time as my mom doesn’t allow me but for this client I have worked till morning 3AM and then finally I found his statement that yes now he is satisfied and is going to pay me, I can take rest.

But now, about 10 hours passed, there is no confirmation email, no payment and I am blocked from his side. In other words, he left me without payment.

During Project, He gave me only wp admin access and said he can’t share his cpanel info as he has 3 most important websites and he can’t allow me to build website on my own server because it would be difficult for him to upload backup at the end. So I build website on his server as he required and that only access to his website (wp admin) password is changed now.

He removed my name from footer, as this website was developed by me so I have placed my name and a link to my website but he removed both things from footer.

At the End of this online job:

I don’t have any contact with him, as he blocked my skype ID, I keep sending him mails about payment but it is easy to divert mails to trash from some specific sender ID. Wordpress admin password is changed too. I don’t have any way to get my money.

Money doesn’t matter at all for most of times, but sometimes in life we have to face some conditions where we need money badly, and I am going through such conditions, this was the reason, I accepted project even for very cheap price. I accepted project, even for without getting any payment at advance. I worked hard continuously for long time, without taking rest, so I can finish it as soon as possible for me and can make my client happy for it, so I can get money earlier and can get more clients and make more money in short time. But see I have lost money, client and my hard work.

Advice for my readers and friends who are working online or want to do some online job:

If you are web-developer or designer,

1.      Then always develop website on your own server instead of developing it on others.

2.      Never start work until you get half payment from client side. Make it your rule and never break this rule, even you need money badly, it is better to have something for your hard work instead of having nothing at all.

3.      Never transfer backup files to client until you get at least 70% payment from him/her.

This was what I have learnt with this bad experience of online job, so I thought to share with my friends, hopefully, you enjoyed my story of the day.

It was also one of the difficult tasks for me but I had to handled so I handled. In this project many times, it return back to me, that make these changes please, as I hadn't grammarly or copyscape premium accounts so I had to face such problems. Finally, I won the race and it had accepted by my client.

I had to write approximately 4800 words for 2000PKR, I needed money as now I needed not only for my websites but also needed for my further studies and other person necessities, Everyone has own wishes and every person wished to fulfill his/her dreams by his/herself. Same was my case, I wished to study a lot and same time I was wishing to earn money to bear my expenses by myself. 


It was tough task for me but Alhamdulillah I had done it well and earned my money.  

Academic Writing (My Client Kashif Bajwa)

It was my 1st client with whom I started academic writing and now our business relationship was getting stronger  as now I was interested in this work, here were 2 basic reasons for taking deep interest in this job. One was his polite behavior, I have learned lots of from him and from my this job. Secondly, as assignments were very close to my own subjects so my this job was providing me a golden chance to increase my knowledge in my own field. 



Now it has become a part of my routine life that whenever I came online, first of all checked his mails or replying him with some solved assignments, by this way my most of time going spend with this academic work/writing and whenever I get some free time then again back to routine life of searching some job on freelance sites.


When I first time joined freelancer, I was totally blank and after browsing jobs for 7 hours, I came to the point that I am not able to do some online job but after that I found some projects about joomla and I had a little bit knowledge about simple scripts so in start I select joomla as my proficiency category but my bad luck whenever I bid on any project and then again back to same project after ten minutes, there must be a long lasting line of professional bidders, having good ratings, and I had no rating points as I was new, by this way clients, of course, select professional people having good rating, who knew me? and how some one could take risk of hiring a newbie. Some of my friends, if became successful in winning some joomla or web development related projects then they pass me that project but I never ever found proper income as firstly they bid too lower that was the main reason of skipping professionals and giving chance to newbies but after that lowest bid we earned nothing, secondly you never ask about money to your friends and I wished to earn something along my experience. It was the main reason, I thought first I should develop a best site for myself then I can use that site as reference of my work, and for developing my own sites properly, I haven't much time. I continued development of my sites and blogs but thought to earn something along with my personal work.


Kashif Bajwa was that only man who hire me without checking my feedback/rating, and then gave me good projects, ignored my mistakes and problems (like net problem, light problem etc.) and most great thing he always guide me as his younger sister. After earning some money from this job, I came back to my sites and started work as I needed some money to start work on my sites and my this job became a source of providing money for my sites and I planned that in long term if it would be possible for me then I will start web development related work along academic writing.

Now, It became a part of my routine life, wandering on freelance sites, specially on freelancer.com in search of some small job, which doesn't bother my routine studies and I can earn some amount of money along with experience. Mostly I prefer writing jobs. 


In this post, I am going to share a new experience of article writing with my friends, hopefully, it would be useful for you as well.

It was our first chat about this new project, this topic was really new for me, But yeah, it was me who had to done this project. I google for relevant material but things seemed tough for me and I wished to provide work on time. 


I asked about market rates from one of my friends, the appropriate rate for rewriting was $0.5 and for original writing rate was $1 per 500 words. I decided to hire some writer for my help. As it was urgency so I offered to my writer $1.5/500 words and assigned him 2X250. Remaining 2X250 written by myself and 1X500 handled by one of my friends. By this way we had completed 1X500 and 4X250 till morning and then after final review such as grammarly test and copyscape test, I sent him articles in following e-mail.

Actually my exams are going to be started from 12 April and would Ends on 23rd April, Unfortunately, I wasted my whole semester in games of earning etc. So, I worried about exams too, so I made friendly request to my new client. about terms and conditions relevant to project. I was happy on all conditions, The very great thing for me that

I was bit late as I checked this e-mail in evening about 7PM PST, So, I decided to work on it without confirmation. One reason for unconfirmed work was: I didn't wanna loose this job at all. 


I started research on this project but as usual 8PM to 9PM light went off so my one hour gone wasted but still I didn't loose hope and started my work again on 9PM PST. Yahooo It had done effectively. So, I sent him solved assignment along with 100% copyscape passed report on following date and time.

Yeah, it was appreciation of my work too. I was too confident so no problem he could take his time for reviewing or clearance etc. This time I was not worried about payment too as I was going to send this money to one of my friend. This was a test for myself to check my skills which confirmed as passed after receiving payment. After this project, I found other good offers too. but I am still waiting and not going to accept any project until end of my exams.

I was waiting for some new task, Now I was thinking about earning more than before but at same time I was upset that how I can earn a lot, It was my heartily wish to make my client satisfied but my bad luck was with me. I was facing following problems those days:

1. I hadn't good command on English, so proofreading was big problem for me.

2. I was very poor girl so couldn't afford grammarly or copyscape premium accounts. I wished to purchase such tools to provide best results from my side but I couldn't afford.

3. Unfortunately, when I found this client and started thinking about making my future in academic writing, my internet was starting going down day by day. one side I wished to get more work to done and wished to earn a lot and other side I was unable to meet the dead lines due to my poor internet.

                Client : koi cheez samjh ni ayi tu mail kar dijye i would ask the cleint

                     me: bro ma khana kha k aayi

                Client : INSHALLAH

                     me: fir baat krti hun ok

                Client : okay sis

9:25 AM                ok sis

                     me: yeah sure inshAllah bro

Now I was waiting for class material, some helping material which can help me to complete this assignment properly, so I was refreshing my inbox. Fortunately, I had checked my fone and there was many sms from client side, He was upset about assignment, and I was still waiting for helping material. I came online for chat and we made following discussion:

                me: hehehe

                        bro don't worries

1:21 AM           I was working and this time I am trying to send you before dead line :P

                         jese hi fone dekha aapke msg dekhe to mje khyal aaya k mje update to krna chhaiye tha       

          Client : okay wo files send kar raha hun jo kal open ni hoi thin

                me: ok sure

1:22 AM          send me

          Client : sent sis

1:23 AM   me: ok not received yet

1:26 AM          received

          Client : okay sis best of luck really counting on you

                me: hmm ok

What I could say to him, I was trying my level best to keep him satisfied about my work. One more e-mail received:

 I found two attachments of ppt files, according to client these would be helpful for me but according to my mind our client had sent us wrong files but I have one more way that was google. I didn't wanna bother my client so I started work my own. 



Well finally I met my dead line and sent solved assignment on time and it was my pleasure.
